We can all see the military conflict ongoing in the Muslim world with fighting going on in Iraq, Palestine, Chechnya, Kashmir, Darfur and the further possibility of action against Iran. Yet there is a deeper and perhaps more significant process going on not just in the Muslim world but all over including those of us in the west; this is the attempt to mould Islam into something acceptable for western policy interests and unwilling to criticise policy. This is not a crackpot theory it is established policy and it involves you!

1. Please do not over-generalize. Muslim people in Palestine are fighting for similar reasons than Chechnyan rebels thousands of miles away, but that is where the similarity ends. They are completely different people following different localized teachings of Islam. To assume everyone follows Islam word-for-word is like saying all Christians are Baptist.
2. Blaming western governments is fallacious, both "sides" are equally guilty of discrimination, misunderstanding, and racism due to the clashing cultural differences. And I don't mean religion. "Western nations" such as Britain have political interests in the Persian gulf and their banning of certain groups is just their way of dealing with a distinctly different culture.
3. American has banned charities because for the past 10 years the FBI has been tracking muslim organizations in the United States that were laundering donation money to terrorist organizations such as Al Quiada back to the middle east. Obviously not all mosques were doing this but when several were found, the FBI became suspicious. After the WTC terrorist attacks the suspicions grew much more.
4. "Islam is from the Qu'ran and Sunnah that have remained the same for 1400 years" how could you possibly say that in almost 1 1/2 millenia, the religion has not been influenced by changing times? Islam is nothing without people, and people change with the times. Many new sects have arisen, different interpretations are taught, old laws are not as relevant, while others are as true now as they were before Muhammed ever lived.
